I want to talk to you about literature, I wish to speak about the magnificently marvelous, meticulous, modern, messy metrics and about the ravenous, rhythmical, ravishingly radiant rhyme. About the wonders of wistful and willful words, and the glory of timid, treacherous, tragic and thrilling thoughts. About the letters and melody, about grammar, intonation and pronunciation, about creativity and creation.

About life.

Literature is powerful, she’s tender and kind, she bares her teeth and growls and howls, she winks and smiles, soars to the sky, free and weightless, yet so heavy at times. She's a protector and a punisher, a butcher and a butterfly, astoundingly astonishing, aspiring, and a perpetual source of awe. She is all of it and much, much more. She guides and glides, sings and whispers, is neither here nor there, and yet again everywhere. She is love, hatred, scorn and delight, darkness and light…

And she is mine.
