Can you guess my name, sweet child?
I make your kites and ribbons glide
I caress your rosy cheek and side
And help you run wild and mild.
I love to play with leaves and snow,
To throw them around as I go,
To laugh and laugh bringing a soft blow
Of warmth and freshness, and so and so.
I can get mad, no doubt in that,
Making all in vicinity wet,
Not allowing the view of a sunset,
But the clouds their spotlight to get.
When I shout all creatures shiver,
They look up teary-eyed and quiver,
Some even break a hasty fever,
And to others my voices peace deliver.
Can you guess my name, sweet girl?
I playfully lift up your skirt and your curl,
I wipe your tears afflicted by some fiend.
It’s no secret. My name is Wind.
