Some years ago
I told you all
The story of my poor heart.
It was shattered to pieces
And the consequence was
It seemed it would always be apart.
Then my king rode in
And took me for a spin,
I basked in all his love.
I took his hand
To the enchanted land
Silently thanking those above.
And now, years later
Our love’s even greater
We’re tied with that red thread.
Sharing hopes and dreams
And all in-betweens,
Milk, honey, butter and bread.
I reside in his caress,
His love, his faithfulness.
I breathe with his kiss.
I live in his embrace,
Drown in his grace,
In his eyes find my bliss.
He was, stayed and will be
All I’ll ever need, see,
My earth, wind, fire and rain.
He’s the only one
Who could make me succumb,
But he would never let me refrain.
