Standing in one spot,
Looking at my feet,
When cold and when hot,
Not being able to greet.
Not knowing how to smile
Only how to frown,
With arms spread to fly
But eyes piercing the brown.
Not wishing to scare,
But spreading the dread all around,
My face sculptured to glare
Set on the ground.
Scaring off birds and children,
I don’t want to, but it’s so.
If by me, I would look up
Jump to the ground and just go.
I hear them ‘round me,
They play and run,
I’d like to join in
It sounds like fun.
I’d love to play around
Run around, smile and not frown…
But I can’t…
I can’t walk, I can’t talk
I can’t even flinch,
I can’t cry, can’t breathe,
Can’t even move an inch.
