She called me to let me know
That you're not there anymore.
The shock came fast and scurried away
My heart tired of keeping tears at bay.

We didn't always see eye to eye
Yes, I knew we'd have to say goodbye.
But deep in my soul I didn't want to know.
I never wished for you to go.

The dam in my heart burst fast.
The heart-wrenching cries came at last.
For she called to let me know
That you're not here anymore.
